Round 4 of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge is just over a week away. The Continental Tire 150 will take place at Watkins Glen International Raceway.
Last season this event proved to be an interesting one. The heavy rain made for some treacherous conditions that saw many cars sliding all over the track. But the rain also had the effect of allowing the MINI handling to shine.
The #52 driven by Ruscitti and Ellsworth unfortunately was out of the event early. They were an innocent victim when a car lost control on the wet pavement and collected it in a crash (8:26 mark of video). This left the #37 driven by Meyer and Simpson as the teams only horse for the remainder of the race.
While most of the field found the wet conditions challenging, team owner Luis Pericopi had a different take:
I was doing the rain dance from the moment I set foot in Watkins Glen because I know our JCW’s handling combined with the KW Suspension and the Wavetrac differential would be extremely good in the wet.
Meyer and Simpson passed many cars throughout the event, but multiple yellow flags hampered their chances of making it to the front.
