If there is one thing we’ve learned this season, despite the pole win last week at Watkins Glen, it’s that the MINIs have struggled to stay up front with the leaders.
Throughout the season IMSA will make changes to the balance of performance (BOP) to try and keep the level of competition even. Earlier this season after a scary crash involving Mark Pombo at Sebring IMSA approved a move to the JCW Brake package. And now they’ve saw fit to make another change for the MINIs. Effective immediately, starting with this weekend’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the MINI JCWs will be allowed to increase their boost from 2120 mbar to 2170 mbar. While it’s a minimal change anything that helps is welcome as the team seeks out its first win.
Special thanks to Mike Bober from ThatMINIShow.com for the scoop.
Don’t forget to tune into this weekend’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Saturday July 9th at 12:25PM, on IMSA.tv. Lets hope to see an immediate impact!
