With the next round of the Contiental Tire SportsCar Challenge only days away at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park we take a moment to look back at last years race at the track.
The event featured only one MINI JCW, the #37 driven by Dan Clarke and Zack Meyer. The #52 wasn’t race ready after the substantial damage it obtained at the previous event at Watkins Glen International. The extra focus the team gave the #37 as a result showed early with the teams best qualifying position to date of 7th. Dan Clarke started the race and showed good pace as he worked his JCW up to fourth running position.
Unfortunately as is to often the case the #37 ran into trouble. The team was penalized for avoidable contact just under an hour into the event. This put the team back in the field and a series of cautions followed preventing them from gaining any real ground. In the end they finished 16th but left with optimism as the team show good speed.
If you’d like to re-watch the team’s first visit to Mosport the video is below.
