Nate Norenberg and Mark Pombo both started race one in the top five after strong qualifying runs.
Pombo unfortunately had contact with another car on lap one that required pitting and sent him to the back of the field. Despite the setback he fought hard to work his way back up to an eight place finishing position.
Nate Norenberg probably had his best race of the season. He ran in the top five for the entirety of the event, grabbing positions one by one on his way to second place. It was a tight race for much of the way. At one point Norenberg was in a four-way battle for the lead.
This was Norenberg’s best finish and second podium of the season.
Be sure to tune in to race two tomorrow, June 14 at 4:30 PM EST.
