Sportscar365 recently interviewed team owner Luis Perocarpi. They’ve posted an interesting story in which Perocarpi discusses the MINI JCW Team’s entry into CTSC.
When we came together with MINI USA and they wanted to go racing professionally, I was putting together the team. We decided that Continental Tire Challenge was the place to be.
Perocarpi also laid out his asperations for the remainder of the season.
It’s going to be really cool if we can continue to win a couple more races, hopefully battle for a manufacturers championship, and end the ST era with MINI on the very high side of things.
As far as the what the future holds for the MINI JCW Team and LAP Motorsports he had this to say:
We were lucky that we created a partnership with MINI USA and we obviously look to continue that partnership somewhere else, but for LAP Motorsports some day we would like to be in one of the classes in the WeatherTech Championship.
It sounds like this might be the final season for the MINI JCW Team in CTSC, but could it continue somewhere else? And it what form? To read more about what Perocarpi would like the team’s legacy to be and some of his favorite moments from the team head over to Sportscar365 for the full story.
